Objective

In order to assemble and dismantle bearings including bearing housings weighing up to 45 tonnes, equipment drawing bearings and bearing housings onto and off with ease and great precision was required. The work is to be done quickly and efficiently with only a few manual operations. 

Advantages

By using air film technology a simple and flexible method for the maintenance of the rollers was achieved. Since the pieces of equipment are movable on air bearings no special frames or installations were required.

Result

An ergonomic and economic solution provides the operator an effective tool in his day-to-day maintenance work. The light and spacious facilities are effectively preserved due to the gentle handling of the air film equipment.
